FAQ's
Using the LibraryThere are 4 ways you can search for footage.
I’m trying to find a specific animal, but I don’t understand the scientific names. Our animals and plants are listed taxonomically. By rolling you mouse over the scientific group names, you should see the common names of the animals found within that group. If you cannot find the animal or plant you are looking for, try using a keyword search, or using our index. Once I have the search results, how do I view individual clips? Each clip is shown in preview mode using Flash, but can be viewed at higher resolution by clicking on the clip. The clip is played, and has the corresponding information displayed. You can also save the clip to your hard drive by clicking on the disk icon. You need to have Flash Media 10 player installed to play the clip. Please visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and install this software before viewing. I have seen clips similar to the footage I am after, but they aren’t quite right. Do you have more I can look at? Yes. ANHU has an extensive library available that is not included on the website. We are happy to assist you by searching through our current footage. Should we find something suitable, we can send you a low res QT version of the clip. Research fees may apply. Downloading low resolution clipsI like this clip – how can I see if it works in my edit? In order to download low resolution Quicktime files for editing, you must first register. Once you have registered, you can log in to the site. To download a QT version of the clip, click on the disk icon on the RHS of the Clip Details screen. A new window will open with the quicktime file. Right-click on the movie window and select “Save as QuickTime movie”. Once this is saved onto your hard drive, you can import it into your editing program. I have downloaded the Quicktime file, but it won’t play. Our clips are produced using H264. Please ensure your player has this codec installed. This watermark is annoying – can I get a low res clip without it? No, the watermark is included to protect the rights of ANHU and the filmmaker. Should you wish to use any clip in a production, please contact ANHU, and we will arrange for the HD clip to be delivered to you on tape.
