Launched as part of the first event in its 20 year celebrations, The Red Centre Campaign is a multi-media campaign consisting of two new feature films and two TV programs from central Australia along with an extensive new online Channel - all cross-promoted and launched progressively over the coming 12 months.
Two of the company’s previous productions The Call of Kakadu and Silhouettes of the Desert were exported to more than 60 countries. “Now, we’re blending some of the best features of TV and the internet to create a website, or channel, that will share a much more diverse range of short stories about the Territory with that same audience,” said creative director David Curl. “We’re also integrating marketing and interpretation in a way that makes promoting the Northern Territory extremely cost-effective and sustainable”.
Also announced tonight is the launch next month of the long-awaited DVD of The Call of Kakadu, the much-loved film of a family of kookaburras in Kakadu National Park that’s transported over 100 million viewers to the Top End since it was completed back in 2005.
The Australasian Natural History Unit is a new Territory company, to be formally launched in Alice Springs later this year, which is coordinating the production of a series of high-budget wildlife films and online channels around Australia.
